Product - Magento 2 Product Types¶

Magento 2 is pre-configured to handle a total of six different product kinds. These are the following: Simple, Grouped, Configurable, Virtual, Bundle, and Downloadable products. In Magento 2, to add new products follow this: Go to Products → Catalog → Add Product.

Magento 2 Product Types¶

The following is a short description of each product category.

Simple Product Type¶

Under the Magento 2 simple product, SKU (shelf-keeping unit) is a physical object with a single SKU (shelf-keeping unit). There are no sizes or colors to pick from.

For example, a cup, table, or chandelier.

Grouped Products¶

It's possible to create a single Magento 2 grouped product page that contains many "Simple Products." There is no pricing for Grouped Goods, however, there is for their Child products. These items may be bought individually or as a set.

When it comes to furniture, luggage, and teacup sets, there are many options.

Configurable Product Type¶

The Magento 2 configurable product is a blend of basic items with a wide range of possibilities (size, color, materials, etc.). This lets a shop administrator keep track of the inventory for each choice.

Neve Studio Dance Jacket, for example, is a product that may be customized. Due to its wide range of sizes and colors. Neve Studio Dance Jacket XS Blue Color is a basic product, but it's not the only one. The Neve Studio Dance Jacket in size M, Black, is a straightforward item.

Virtual Product Type¶

Virtual products do not need shipping, delivery, or download because of their absence of physical existence. You can create a Magento 2 virtual product page for customer service, technical assistance, online training, insurance, and reservations.

Bundle Product Type¶

It is a combination of basic things that cannot be offered individually. Magento 2 bundle product pages offer complete creative control over the final design of this product.

Examples include a computer, a gaming console, or a gift basket.

Downloadable Product Type¶

The term "downloadable product" refers to software that can be downloaded via the internet.

Magento extensions, software, music files, eBooks, games, and apps are just a few examples of Magento 2 downloadable product pages.
